Relay London Jobs and the Olympic Delivery Authority recently held an induction day for 100 candidates of Relay members wishing to enrol onto security training. With funding from the LDA, the security company, G4S, is delivering training in CCTV, Manned Guarding, Fire Marshalling and Manual Handling over the next two months. During the induction day, held in West Ham, East London, candiates were assessed and interviewed with a total of 67 being enrolled. All candidates will also have their licenses funded and have a good chance of being employed either on the Olympic site or elsewhere.
The new LDA ESF prospectus has just been published. There are considerable opportunities within this prospectus for Relay members to apply for funding.

Celebrations were enjoyed at the Tate Modern on Friday 21st with over 120 guests from a whole variety of job brokerage organisations. Officially launching Relay London Jobs, guests travelled up to Level 7 where they enjoyed food, wine, networking and fantastic views of the city.
Every couple of months, Relay are delivering pan-London and localised networking events to encourage a culture of partnership working amongst Relay members.
These events are centred around relevant and practical topics, including funding streams, localised provision, training opportunities, labour market information and best practice, and give members the opportunity to improve and promote their services and projects.
This workshop was recently held twice as it was so popular with Relay members. 46 job brokers in total attended and learned about the current legislation that covers the rehabilitation of offenders into the workplace. Talks were given by a criminal barrister, ex-offenders and job brokers who specialise with working with current and ex-offenders including from Safer London Foundation. The workshops also covered the role of the probation service and how to represent ex-offenders to potential employers.
